Method
- 01
Chill a transparent jellyfish glass (or tulip glass, highball glass, etc., with a capacity of about 300-350ml) in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to ensure the glass is cold. The unique curved shape of the jellyfish glass better showcases the pink color of the drink and the visual effect of the ice cubes.
- 02
Prepare a large ice cube (about 5x5cm) or a sphere ice. If you don't have one, you can use an ice mold to freeze it in advance. Large ice cubes melt slowly, reducing dilution and enhancing the visual effect. Place the ice cube in the freezer until ready to use.
- 03
Prepare 1 bottle of Yakult (standard 100ml), ensuring it is chilled to maintain the best taste and flavor. You can also use other probiotic drinks like Wei Quan or Yili, but Yakult has the most classic flavor.
- 04
In a standard shaker, add 25ml gin, 15ml white rum, 15ml fresh lemon juice, and 8ml grenadine syrup.
- 05
Open the Yakult and pour the entire bottle (about 100ml) into the shaker. The lactic acid and proteins in Yakult will create a rich foam and smooth texture when shaken.
- 06
Add enough ice cubes to the shaker (about 2/3 full), being careful not to add too much ice to avoid over-diluting the Yakult. Secure the shaker lid tightly.
- 07
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to ensure all ingredients are fully mixed and emulsified. The proteins and fats in Yakult will emulsify during shaking, creating a smooth and creamy texture with rich foam. Shake until the shaker is frosted and feels cold.
- 08
Remove the chilled jellyfish glass from the refrigerator and carefully place the large ice cube in the center of the glass, ensuring it is stable and centered for the best visual effect.
- 09
⑨ Open the shaker and use a Hawthorne strainer to filter the drink into the glass, allowing the liquid to flow slowly around the ice cube, forming a pink 'ocean' around it. The drink should fill the glass to about 2/3 to 3/4 of its height, leaving space for garnish.
- 10
⑩ Prepare the garnish: Take a fresh mint leaf, lemon leaf, or other edible decorative leaf (about 5-7cm long), rinse it gently with water, and pat it dry with a paper towel. If using a mint leaf, gently clap it in your palm to release its aroma.
- 11
⑪ Gently place the leaf on top of the ice cube, allowing it to lie naturally or slightly tilted, creating an elegant natural decoration. The green of the leaf contrasts beautifully with the pink of the drink, and the leaf's aroma adds an extra layer of scent when drinking.
- 12
⑫ Serve immediately, and recommend that guests first admire the visual beauty of the pink drink surrounding the transparent ice cube, lightly smell the fresh aroma of the leaf, and then slowly savor this refreshing and unique 'revival' cocktail. Serve with a straw or drink directly.
