Margarita
The origin of the Margarita is a subject of much debate, but it is most likely to have appeared in Mexico in the late 1930s to early 1940s. It is made with 100% tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice. One of the most popular legends is that bartender Carlos Herrera created the drink for dancer Margarita Sames, while another story suggests it was created to avoid lime allergies for Margarita Henkel.
