Cosmopolitan
The origin of the Cosmopolitan is somewhat disputed. This drink was likely independently created by different bartenders since the 1970s. It is generally believed that John Caine brought the drink to San Francisco from the Midwest around 1987. In the same year, Toby Cecchini created the internationally recognized version of this cocktail in Manhattan, based on a less detailed description by Cheryl Cook.
