Dracula’s Kiss

Dracula's Kiss

A romantic and dramatic cocktail. The deep red syrup cascades down the glass like a vampire's evening gown. It's not really kissing you, it just wants to leave a mark. Sweet with a hint of danger.

Method

  1. 01

Prepare the blood coating: In a small saucepan, combine 50ml of pomegranate syrup and 100g of granulated sugar, in a 1:2 ratio.

  2. 02

Heat over low heat, stirring constantly with a silicone spatula to prevent the syrup from sticking. Simmer for about 8-10 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup thickens and turns a deep red, resembling blood. When lifted with a spoon, it should flow slowly in a thin stream.

  3. 03

Turn off the heat and let it cool to a warm temperature (about 60-70°C), at which point the syrup has the best wall-clinging consistency.

  4. 04

Tilt the highball glass at about a 45-degree angle, and use a small spoon to quickly swipe the thick syrup along the inner wall of the glass, allowing it to flow naturally downward to create an irregular bloodstain effect. Repeat 2-3 times to create layers. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes to allow the syrup to set slightly.

  5. 05

Fill the decorated glass with ice cubes, preferably large or spherical ice to slow down the melting process.

  6. 06

In a shaker, add 30ml of vodka, 15ml of lemon juice, and 10ml of pomegranate syrup.

  7. 07

Add ice to the shaker, shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker frosts.

  8. 08

Using a strainer, gently pour the liquid into the decorated glass, being careful to preserve the blood coating on the glass wall.

  9. 09

⑨ Slowly pour cola to fill the glass about 80%, and gently stir 1-2 times with a bar spoon to maintain the red-black gradient effect, without overmixing.
