02 · METHOD

Method

  1. 01

Prepare a standard shot glass (capacity about 30-50ml), ensuring it is clean and transparent to showcase the final visual effect.

  2. 02

Pour about 10ml of fresh lemon juice into the shot glass, filling about 1/3 of the glass. The lemon juice should cover the bottom of the glass.

  3. 03

Using a jigger, measure about 10ml of vodka and slowly pour it down the side of the glass, allowing it to gently layer over the lemon juice. The glass should be about 80% full. Use the back of a bar spoon to guide the pour for a smoother layering, avoiding excessive mixing.

  4. 04

Key step — creating the 'brain tissue' effect: Take about 10ml of Baileys Irish Cream and use a bar spoon or dropper to slowly drip it into the center of the glass, about 2-3cm above the liquid surface.

  5. 05

The Baileys will immediately coagulate upon contact with the acidic lemon juice, forming a milky white, fluffy precipitate. These coagulated particles will suspend and slowly sink in the vodka, creating a texture similar to the folds of the brain cortex. The entire process takes about 15-20 seconds; be patient and wait for the effect to fully develop.

  6. 06

The finishing touch: Carefully drop 3-5 drops of pomegranate syrup onto the surface of the drink using a dropper or the tip of a bar spoon. The syrup will slowly seep and sink through the coagulated Baileys, creating red 'blood vessels' that contrast strongly with the white 'brain tissue'.

  7. 07

It is recommended to drink it in one go without stirring with a straw to maintain the best taste and visual effect.
